Foot strike is so important to help avoid chronic pain and other compensations that will occur over time. How you load your feet impacts everything else in your kinetic chain. Here's the basics for proper foot strike when walking or running. (notice the feet in the photo above? The back foot is pronating(turning inward) which is a sign of a fallen arch or other problems between the lower leg and hip that need to be addressed. Sometimes it is a as simple as using shoe inserts or a specific shoe designed for over-pronators).
